In this 3.5h hour class, I will guide you through basic techniques and patterns used in modern weaving. The class is designed for complete beginners. You will learn everything you need to know to complete your first wall hanging. There will be physical examples to evoke some inspiration and to see a finished product. This may not be enough time to complete your piece, but by the end of the class you will feel comfortable weaving at home.
We will go over colour choice and theory, weaving tools and the fibres you can use to weave. A collection of thoughtfully chosen yarns and fibres will be provided for the class as well as the opportunity to purchase additional supplies at the end of the session (to fuel your new weaving addiction).

-Rya & Looped rya
-Bubbling
-Soumak
-Hem Stitch
-Finishing & how to take it off the loom

Your very own weaving kit includes a weaving loom and all tools necessary to create your wall hanging. Your Roving Textiles loom & tools are designed and individually handcrafted by myself and her Dad Paul and are made here in Canada. The loom and tools are made from beautiful, natural Maple. The loom provided stores easily and is great for traveling. $150 value. You will also receive an e-book with all the details of the class to continue your journey at home. You will also have enough yarn to make another wall hanging.
